Hi,

Interests

Languages and cultures – Language and culture define us, they are the essence of who we are and how we see ourselves and others. I’m interested in the preservation and celebration of cultural differences, the use of culture in tourism and how culture is packaged and sold for mass consumption.

Sustainability – Preserving resources for future posterity, eco-issues and how best to address issues of sustainability, alternatives and solutions to protect the planet and ensure a sustainable future. Additionally, the protection of cultural resources and finding ways to ensure we protect our heritage and that of others. Linked to this is the protection of marginalised groups in terms of language, geography (rural, nomadic tribes, etc) culture, and other factors that push people to the periphery of society.

Social issues – Issues of the marginalised caused or resulting from poverty; HIV and AIDS. Addressing inequalities in terms of gender, access to resources, race, and other diversity issues.

Research and Writing – Varied subject matter but more looking at a problem and the issues linked to the problem and the solutions available or that can be created or introduced.
